Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, an Mexican American sportscaster. She is currently working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at her age of nine. Her ability in this area helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work with national producers on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Covering stories related to the trafficking of drugs and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she served as an anchor for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news in English at 9 pm and after which she became a news anchor until 10pm, before returning to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Then she anchor and wrote for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She wrote on the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She also hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. In similar roles on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. At some point they moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an older sister. The family moved to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. In the course of a few months, her father split from her mother. She was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. In the summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she had a clear idea of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. After completing her studies, she was accepted into the University with a degree of media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. It was he who inspired her confidence, and his passion for Journalism deeply touched her. As a result, she strived to fulfill his expectations and never let him down.
